A new police video shows what happened after a terrible day at an elementary school in Virginia. You can see officers running inside after a six-year-old boy shot his classroom teacher.
When you watch the footage, you quickly understand how scary the day was for everyone. Police officers arrived fast and walked down the quiet hallway to find the injured educator. Other school staff members were already trying to keep the young boy calm in a room nearby. Meanwhile, the wounded woman needed quick help because she had serious injuries to her hand and chest. Paramedics hurried inside with a stretcher to take her to a local hospital before things got worse. The camera records the quiet fear in people's voices as they tried to protect all the other children in the building. Parents rushed to the front gates to pick up their kids, not knowing what had taken place inside. It is hard to believe that a child so young brought a loaded firearm from home into a primary classroom. Officers checked every corner to make sure nobody else had a weapon or suffered any harm.
This sad event started big talks across the country about safety rules and how adults store their guns at home.
