Hantavirus Outbreak

The hantavirus is a very bad disease. It was found on a big ship called MV Hondius. The ship had many people from different countries. Some of them got very sick and had respiratory problems. The ship went to a place called Rotterdam. The people in charge are trying to keep everyone safe by making a quarantine. This means the sick people have to stay away from others for a long time, around 42 days. The authorities are working hard to make sure everyone is safe.

The ship had around 150 people when the sickness started. Some people have already died. The sickness is spread by rodents and can be given to people if they are very close to someone who is sick. The WHO is watching the situation closely. They say it is not like COVID and it's not a big problem for everyone. But they think more people might get sick because the incubation period is very long, up to 6 weeks. The government is also involved and is helping to keep people safe. The outbreak is being monitored closely.

The people in Rotterdam are a little worried. But the health officials are doing their best to keep everyone safe. They are watching the people who might have been in close contact with the sick people. This is a very important job to keep the community safe.
