Imagine living near beautiful, cold mountains. Suddenly, a huge piece of ice falls, and everything changes. This is what happened on the border between Nepal and China. A big glacier broke, and it caused a terrible disaster for many families.
The broken ice made a very big flood of water and mud. The water went down the mountain very fast and hit many small villages. Sadly, nearly 1,400 people died in this event, and more than 5,000 people are still missing. One father, Ajay Gupta, is looking for his young daughter every day. He walks through the mud and looks at the broken houses, but he cannot find her yet. Many workers are trying to search the area to find people who are lost. They use dogs and tools to help them, but the mud is very deep and dangerous. It is very hard to survive in this cold wet weather without food or warm clothes. Still, Ajay does not want to stop looking because he wants to rescue his child.
Even after many weeks, Ajay still keeps his hope alive. He believes his daughter is waiting for him somewhere. He wants the world to help find all the people who lost their homes after the mountain collapse.
