Big news hit the soccer world this week. Manchester City received a serious guilty verdict after a long investigation into their financial rules. If you follow the Premier League, you know this is a huge story that everyone is talking about online.
Despite the shocking ruling, manager Enzo Maresca says he feels completely peaceful. He told club media that he has full trust in the club leaders and will not let outside talk distract his team. The club officially announced an appeal against the decision, calling the ruling an unsafe opinion filled with mistakes. Meanwhile, Maresca says the locker room mood is bright because City sits top of the table. You might wonder how athletes handle such pressure, but Maresca explained that his squad ignores the outside drama and keeps its focus entirely on the pitch. The players understand their professional job and want to compete at their highest level every weekend. Rather than worrying about courtrooms or points deductions, they are preparing to travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in a massive weekend showdown. Maresca stressed that nobody inside the training ground cares about external gossip right now.
Manchester City continues its title fight on Sunday against Liverpool. The squad aims to silence the critics and protect its league lead on the pitch.
