Ukraine Drone Attack

Hello, I'm Amanda Walker. Russia says Ukraine launched a big drone attack on St. Petersburg. The governor of the city told people to stay inside. This is the first time he has said this since the war started. Russian officials say they shot down over 140 drones and stopped 380 more from flying into western and southern Russia.

Ukraine's President Zelensky said that Ukrainian drones flew a long way to get to Russia's St. Petersburg area. They were trying to hit arsenals and a naval base. He also said they hit an oil depot in Russia's Krasnodar region. Zelensky said these attacks were a fair response to Russia's attacks. Ukraine is getting better at using drone warfare. They are now able to hit places deeper inside Russia. This is making Russia have some problems. Ukraine is also getting better at logistics and is starting to win back some ground. Russia is losing a lot of manpower.

It's not clear how long Ukraine will keep getting better, but it's making a big impression on the world. People can no longer say that Zelensky has no cards to play. The strikes are also having a big effect on Russia's government. Some people who support the government are starting to wonder if Russia can really win the war. Ukraine is putting a lot of pressure on Russia, and this might make them want to talk about a negotiation. However, it's unlikely that Russia will want to negotiate anytime soon.
