Do you remember the tiny metal toy cars you used to race across your living room floor? Those childhood memories are driving onto the big screen in the upcoming film "Matchbox: The Movie." Stars Jessica Biel and Sam Richardson recently sat down on the TODAY show to share some behind-the-scenes secrets about this high-octane adventure.
The actors promised that the movie will deliver plenty of excitement, featuring incredible vehicles and intense action sequences. Jessica and Sam discussed the challenge of performing a difficult stunt on set, which kept their energy high throughout the shoot. Filming took them to an exotic location, adding a beautiful backdrop to the fast-paced story. Because the film is based on a classic toy, it naturally taps into a deep sense of nostalgia for older viewers while introducing new designs to younger fans. Beyond the toy cars, Jessica is busy with another production, working on a television adaptation of Keith Rosson's novel "Coffin Moon." During their interview, Sam also took a moment to reveal his personal game-day tradition for supporting his beloved Detroit Lions football team. He explained how these rituals help him feel connected to his hometown. The actors' chemistry and shared enthusiasm suggest that this film will offer a major thrill for audiences of all ages, potentially launching a new cinematic franchise.
From toy boxes to movie theaters, Matchbox is proving that great stories can come from the most unexpected places. Keep an eye out for this action-packed release, and maybe dust off your own old toy cars while you wait.
