Adrian, a visionary interior designer based in Paris, has masterfully crafted a one-of-a-kind apartment that embodies the essence of his design philosophy. Inspired by his experiences with van life, Adrian sought to create a permanent, road trip-like abode that would maximize every inch of space. The apartment, nestled in the heart of the vibrant Belleville neighborhood, is a symphony of modern design elements, cleverly integrated with vintage charm.
The transformation of the former fabric store into a bespoke apartment was a meticulous process, involving the removal of existing structures and the creation of a 100% plywood box that would house the kitchen, bathroom, and mezzanine bed. The stairs, originally situated on the left side of the apartment, were repositioned to the right, allowing for a more efficient use of space. The living room, intentionally kept simple, features a Paulistano armchair and a refurbished coffee table, adding a touch of sophistication to the space.
The apartment's design is characterized by a range of innovative features, including a hidden cabinet for storing jackets and helmets, a custom-made shelf for displaying books and objects, and a projector for movie nights. The kitchen is equipped with a range of modern appliances, while the bathroom features a circular wash basin and custom-made drawers. The mezzanine bed, accessible via custom-made stairs, offers a cozy retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Adrian's apartment is a testament to his skill as a designer and his ability to create a functional, beautiful space that reflects his personality.
