Russia's Changing Past

There is a big change happening in Russia. The past is changing. People in Russia are not sure what happened in the past. The government is putting up new statues of Joseph Stalin. Stalin was a leader of Russia a long time ago. He did many bad things. He killed many people. But now the government is saying he was a good leader. Some people agree with the government. They think Stalin was a good leader. He did many good things for Russia. But other people do not agree. They think Stalin was a bad leader. He did many bad things. The government is also saying that the Soviet Union is still alive. The Soviet Union was a country that used to exist in Russia. It was a long time ago. But now the government is saying it is still alive. This is making many people confused. They do not know what to think. The government is trying to change the past to make the present look better. But this is not fair. The past should be remembered as it was. Not changed to make the government look good. We should learn from the past so we can make a better future. But if we change the past, we will not learn from it. And we will make the same mistakes again.
