China's lonely men are being conned by fake marriages

China's population has an imbalance of 30 million more men than women. This imbalance has led to many single men looking for a wife.

The Chinese authorities are taking notice of a rise in marriage fraud. Scammers are targeting these single men, often using matchmaking agencies to arrange fake weddings.

These agencies, known as the 'flash marriage' industry, can arrange a wedding in just a few days. But the men who use these services often end up losing their savings.

Our correspondent, Laura Bicker, met some of the men who fell victim to these scams.

They shared their stories of how they were conned into spending their life savings on fake weddings.

These men were left heartbroken and financially ruined.
